Discounts for Carers on Leisure Centre Memberships

South Staffordshire Councils Leisure and Community Development have been working hard since July in making their facilities more available and affordable for customers and in doing so launched a whole range of new memberships in July.

As part of this launch, a new Leisure Linx Membership was developed which is a cheap and minimal commitment membership for customers living in South Staffordshire that are in receipt of specific benefits whereby customers can use most of the Leisure Centre facilities for only £10.00 per month.

However since this launch, there have been further developments to the Leisure Linx Scheme. It is often the case that carers are so busy caring for others that they often forget to look after themselves, therefore this has been added into the Leisure Linx scheme which from 1st September now entitles carers in receipt of Carers Allowance eligible to take it out.

Customers that can qualify for the scheme inlcude:

• People in receipt of working tax credit, income support, Housing benefit, council tax benefit (Dependants there of)

• A registered job seeker and in receipt of jobseekers allowance

• In receipt of incapacity benefit

• A carer in receipt of Carers Allowance
